Greetings from CityWalk,

The Ferguson Special Business District has an opening for a board member position effective July 1, 2019.

This is a three-year position with a monthly commitment of 1.5 hours every second Thursday of the month. The board meets from 5:30pm-7:00pm at the Thomas Professional Building located at 910 S. Florissant Rd. 63135.

Our goal is to grow and maintain a strong business community that focuses on economic development, business professional development, and entrepreneurship. This position is open to current business owners within the Ferguson Special Business District.

Our next board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 11, 2019. Board members will be available to answer any questions you may have about joining. You may also contact any current board member for additional information.

4th of July Parade Starts at 10:00 a.m. at Paul Avenue and Florissant Road – then proceeds North on Florissant Road to January-Wabash Memorial Park. See you there!

Hello Ferguson! My name is Kawana Waddell, I’m the owner of Style-Taneous Styles Boutique, located in the heart of Ferguson.

The boutique is very fashionable in women and men’s clothing ranging from casual to formal, accessories and more. We also specialize in personal wardrobe styling and custom made styling. If you have a picture or sketch . . . we can bring it to reality. We are located at 425-427 S. Florissant Rd. and we absolutely love it. Our boutique was previously located in Chesterfield prior to moving into our current location, which is much more fitting for us since we have lived in the Ferguson community for over 8 years.

Having a small business here in Ferguson, has literally been a life changing event for my family and I. My clientele has tripled; and we recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary being a small business in the Ferguson area. We outgrew our previous space and expanded into what was Corners Frame Shop. I couldn’t have asked for a better location.

Speaking of location, in celebration of our 1 year anniversary, we opened our men’s boutique in the space that we previously had and it’s off to a wonderful start. Please stop by and see us!

We are open Monday by appointment only and Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 7pm; Friday and Saturday 10am-8pm. We carry women sizes Small to Plus Size and Men’s Sizes Small to Big and Tall. We also host private Shopping with Twist Parties (which are so rewarding and fun) on Sundays.

OmTurtleYoga & Spa Opening Cafe

Angie Carron, owner of OmTurtleYoga & Spa established in Ferguson and Florissant since 2013, has decided to expand her current yoga studio in Ferguson to include a cafe! She has partnered with Kaldi’s Coffee and Firepot teas as well as other wellness minded vendors to provide the very best in superfoods for our community. She’s also working with local artisans to sell unique goods in her Urban Market. Soft opening targeted for summer 2018 at 415 S. Florissant Rd.

Ferguson Receives Downtown Revitalization Grant

The Ferguson Special Business District has been selected in a competitive application process to participate in a cost-sharing Affiliate Grant that provides training, mentoring, and technical services to revitalization programs in Missouri’s historic commercial districts. The grant is provided by Missouri Main Street Connection, Inc. (MMSC)

The Farmers Market is Moving!

The market will kick off this season on Saturday, May 6th, 2018 and we will now be located at Plaza 501, 501 S. Florissant Rd., Ferguson, MO. 63135.

Why you ask? Here are a few reasons why:

Plaza 501 was originally built to house the farmers market.
Plaza 501 has more space. It is just simply bigger.
Plaza 501 has more green space. This means we can have gardens, flowers, space for kids to play, maybe even a place for pets.
Plaza 501 will allow the businesses that depend on the Victorian Plaza parking lot to better utilize it to accommodate for business growth.
Plaza 501 is already being used for the Concert Series, the Twilight Run and now StreetFest, with the addition of the Farmer’s Market, we are making
Plaza 501 the premier event space it so deserves.
Plaza 501 already has a covered area, permanent bathrooms, electricity and running water.

Ferguson 4th of July Fundraiser: Night at the Mouse Races – January 20

Please join us on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Ferguson Community Center for a Night at the Mouse Races to raise funds for our 4th of July Festival. Doors open at 6pm; first race begins at 7pm; last race begins at 10pm. Cost is $15 per person or $100 per table of 8 people and includes refreshments, snacks, music, and lots of chances to win! There will also be a cash bar, basket raffle, and liquor drawing.

HOW DOES A MOUSE RACE WORK?

All races are run LIVE with REAL mice
There are a total of 7 races. There are six races with six different mice and the winning mouse
from each race will compete against each other in the final Championship race
You will have a chance to view the “racers” prior to each race and placing your bet
Odds of winning will be posted prior to each race
Mouse Money is used in the betting process and a minimum of a $2 bet per race is required
Winners can collect their Mouse Money winnings after each race – once final odds are posted
