Dear Ferguson and North St. Louis County –
Thank you, thank you, thank you! The 17th annual Ferguson Twilight Run was exciting, memorable and most of all, it was FUN!
More than 1,000 runners and walkers laced up, lined up and filled the streets of Ferguson. They crossed the finish line and celebrated personal victories with smiles and medals. The distances included one mile, 5K (3.1 miles), and 10K (6.2 miles) on routes that are USATF-certified by Big River Running Company.
Ferguson Twilight Run welcomed runners and walkers from first-time participants to people who do the race year after year. Awards were presented to the top finishers and age group winners in the 5K and 10K events.
It’s a community effort
There are many people to thank for the success of the Ferguson Twilight Run:
- Runners, walkers and the family and friends who supported them through race day.
- Virtual runners and walkers who participated from across the U.S. and abroad.
- Volunteers who helped with medals, snacks, packet pick up, registration, water stations, cheer stations, course monitoring and more.
- Neighborhood residents who cheered from their porches, yards and driveways, and the churches and small businesses who cheered everyone on the course.
- Sponsors, businesses and community publications that committed time, teams, treasure and support for the race.
- City of Ferguson fire, police, parks and rec, and public works staff, as well as Ferguson City Council.
- Vendors, business owners and nonprofits who represented in the finish area.
- DJ Big Papa G, D2thaC and DJ $OL and emcee Tonee Roper. The party on the Plaza was so much fun!
- Ferguson Twilight Run’s planning committee and race director Dwayne T. James.
